The winter season is upon us; however, here in Wisconsin it hasn't seemed so bad -- so far. We had a light dusting of snow over the Christmas holiday. Since then the temperatures have peaked into the 40s and 50s. Today I sat up on the hill in my lawn chair as my 80 lb "lap dog" Miley pranced around with a tree branch in her mouth. The stick was longer than she was and each time Miley would turn to look at something her stick would whack me in the shin. Nevertheless, I praised God for such a mild, winter day.

I told the Lord I could get used to such winters. But tomorrow all that will change. A winter storm watch is in effect. An expected 5-7 inches of snow along with gusts of cold wind are heading our way. But don't despair. This is a great time to curl up with a good book. Try my latest: Threads of Hope. It takes place in the summertime in Wisconsin in 1848. You can read the blurb on my historical books page (just click on the cover to the right)

So for now, we in this winter wonderland will hunker down until the Ides of March. (I pray the winter season won't last until the Ides of June, for heaven's sake!) In the meantime, please read on!
